My journey at Hope began in fall, 1996, as a behavioral assistant for an independent company. I worked in a varying exceptionality classroom under Sonjia Johnson Brown's leadership. She was a phenomenal teacher who inspired me to seek a degree in Exceptional Student Education. I transferred from being a paraprofessional in 2000 to the data entry operator.  During my time as a data entry operator, I started taking classes to earn a teaching degree. I graduated from the University of West Florida in May 2010 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Exceptional Student Education. In July 2010, I was hired as the Primary 1 teacher. My first year teaching was a great experience, which fueled an even greater passion for teaching youth. After five years in an elementary classroom, I changed age groups. I had an amazing first year as the middle school teacher in Junior High 3. I am looking forward, with excitement, to my second year as the teacher for Junior High 3 and 7th year as a teacher, beginning August 2017.
